Mr. Herbert Blainey, age 71, died Wednesday, April 3, 2013. He was born December 29, 1941, in Plattsburgh, N.Y. and was a son of the late Arthur Blainey and Elizabeth Wiggins Blainey. He was the husband of Janice L. Blainey. Mr. Blainey retired from Red Star Express as a truck driver, was a member of the Teamsters Union 317. He volunteered for the Van Wyck community center and was a member of Belair United Methodist Church and the Belair United Methodist Church Men's Club. Mr. Blainey is survived by his wife, Janice L. Blainey of Lancaster; two sons, Robert Blainey and Michael Blainey, both of Auburn, N.Y.; a daughter, Robin Blainey of Auburn; two stepdaughters, Roxanne Webber of Lancaster and Leona Padgett and her husband, Van, of Pearl, Miss.; one brother, Arthur James Blainey and wife, Shirley, of Fulton, N.Y.; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Blainey was preceded in death by a brother, William Blainey. The celebration of life funeral services for Mr. Blainey are 4 p.m. Monday, April 8, at Belair United Methodist Church, officiated by the Rev. Harry Ginghart. The family of Mr. Blainey will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m., Monday, April 8, at the church. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Belair United Methodist building fund, 8095 Shelley Mullis Road, Indian Land, SC 29707.
