James Harold McManus, 92, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at White Oak Manor. He was born March 25, 1920, in Monroe, N.C., the son of the late Baxter McManus and Ada Broome McManus and was the husband of Margie Rushing McManus. Mr. McManus retired from Springs Industries and was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. McManus is survived by his wife of 68 years, Margie Rushing McManus of the home; two daughters, Kelsie Carter and her husband, Richard, and Judy Taylor and her husband, Dick; two sons, James McManus and his wife, Barbara, and Steve McManus and his wife, Joyce; five beautiful granddaughters, Rhonda M. Williams, Ginger M. Johnson, Monica M. Bennett, Stephanie McManus, and Mandy M. Laney; and six great-grandsons.
The celebration of life funeral service for Mr. McManus will be 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at the chapel of Hartley-Burgess Funeral Home. Burial will be private at Lancaster Memorial Park.
The family of Mr. McManus will receive friends at the home of James and Barbara McManus, 2685 Lazy Oak Drive, Lancaster, and suggests memorials to the Alzheimer's Foundation, 901 S. Pine St., Spartanburg, SC 29302.
