Mr. James "Jimmy" Perry Gheant, 59, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 15, 1953, in Lancaster and was a son of the late Edith Faile Ghent and James Williams Gheant. Mr. Gheant was the husband of Kathy Gamble Gheant. Mr. Gheant retired from Duracell, was a past member of Hart Masonic Lodge #380, an avid fisherman and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. He was beloved by many family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Kathy G. Gheant; father, James W. Gheant of Lancaster; two sons, Jim Gheant and Michael Gheant, both of Lancaster; a grandson, Austin Sims; sister-in-law, Tina Gardner; brother-in-law, Randy Gamble and several nieces and nephews. The celebration of life memorial services for Mr. Gheant were 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at Immanuel Baptist Church, 1152 Great Falls Highway, officiated by the Revs. Tim Anderson and Mitch Ingram. The family received friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Immanuel Baptist Church, Children's Fund, 1152 Great Falls Highway, Lancaster, SC 29720.
