James Thomas "Tommy" Horne Sr., 53, died Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, at his residence.

Mr. Horne was born in Lancaster on Feb. 18, 1960, to the late Joyce T. Horne and the late Carolyn Funderburk Horne.
Mr. Horne is survived by his wife, Janet Cauthen Horne; his son, James Thomas "Jay" Horne Jr. and his wife, Marie Caskey Horne, of Lancaster; two daughters, Carli Elizabeth Horne and Cayce Anne "Little Bit" Horne, both of the home; two granddaughters, Elaina Grace "Gracie" Horne and Abby Faith Horne; two sisters, Cherie Ellis and her husband, Berry, of Heath Springs, and Danette Hornback of Monroe, N.C.; his father-in-law, Ross Cauthen, and his wife, Gloria; and his mother-in-law, Carole T. Cauthen and her lifelong partner, Ken Willis, all of Lancaster.
Mr. Horne was a former employee of Interstate Brands Corporation, Merita Inc.
Tommy loved sports – The Dallas Cowboys, The University of South Carolina Gamecocks, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
He will be cremated, according to his wishes. A private celebration of life service is planned for a later date.
The family will receive friends at the home, 1177 Peach Farm Road, Lancaster.
