Jettie Carnes Fender, 80, of Seymour, Tenn., passed away Monday, July 9, 2018.
She was born Jan. 12, 1938, in Lancaster, a daughter of the late William Townsley Carnes and Hattie Jane Shute Carnes. Jettie was the wife of John Lewis Fender. She was a homemaker and member of Church Street United Methodist Church in Knoxville, Tenn., and a former member of Hopewell United Methodist Church in Lancaster.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, John Matthew Fender of Greensboro, N.C., and Brian Kevin Fender and wife, Kelcy Baker Fender, of Columbia; two grandchildren, Benjamin Miles Fender and Lily Grace Fender; and one sister, Martha C. McCain of Lancaster.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Joe David Carnes, Ben F. Carnes, Fred T. Carnes, Harold Brown Carnes and Billy Ray Carnes; and three sisters, Mary Catoe, Emily Franklin and Frances "Peepsie" Lee.
Per Jettie's wishes she was cremated and her cremains will be interred at Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery.
