Joe Carl Dunlap, 78, passed away Monday, Nov. 12, 2012 at his home.
He was born Feb. 16, 1934, in Lancaster, a son of the late Leo Dunlap and Louise Whitaker Dunlap. He was a faithful member of Grace Freewill Baptist Church, where he also served as a deacon. He was founder of Rural Garbage Services.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Dunlap will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012 at at Grace Freewill Baptist Church with the Revs. Roger Anders, Gary McInvaille, Eddie Usher, Mitch Ingram and Mr. Clinton Watts officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park.
Mr. Dunlap is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Coulter Dunlap of Lancaster; two sons, Rick Dunlap and his wife, Denise, of Liberty Hill and Timmy Dunlap and his wife, Tammy, of Lancaster; three daughters, Trisha Bradsher and her husband, Andy, of Elgin, Teresa Workman and her husband, Philip, of Lancaster and Lisa McNeely and her husband, Mike, of Monroe; four sisters, Nancy Seegars and Shirley Bryson, both of Lancaster, Sadie Bolick of Hickory, N.C., and Bonnie Funderburk of Lancaster; eight grandchildren, Eric Dunlap, Kelly Catledge, Brandon Faulkenberry, Nikki Sellers, Neil Workman, Ashley Faulkenberry, Amber Dunlap and Lucas Dunlap; eight step-grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Frank Dunlap; and two sisters, Frances Benton and Diane Woodward.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Nov. 14, 2012, at Lancaster Funeral Home; and other times at the home, 1151 Laurel Ave., Lancaster.
