Juanita Baker, 74, peacefully passed away Monday with her loving family by her side. Born Aug. 26, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Marion and Ruby Willis Massey. Juanita was a member of New Cut Presbyterian Church and enjoyed camping, crossword puzzles, cookbooks, and collecting chickens and roosters.

She is survived by her husband, Rodgers Baker, Jr.; daughter, "Patti" Baker; son, Rodney "Buck" Baker; sister, Shirley Ford, of Hendersonville, N.C.; and many family and friends. In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles and James Massey.
The family will receive friends at 2 p.m. at McLean Funeral Directors. A service will follow at 3 p.m. Aug. 27, 2014, at the funeral home, 201 N. Catawba St., Lancaster, with the Rev. Wayne Dixon and Bill Sumner officiating. Interment will follow.
