Nora Mae Hinson, 85, of Lancaster, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014.

Born Dec. 30, 1928, in Lancaster County, she was the daughter of the late Doode and Edna Mae Gardner Sims. Nora is retired after working 35 years at Springs Industries.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Betty L. McDonald and Brenda McManus and her husband, Kenneth, all of Lancaster; grandchildren: Mark McDonald and his wife, Michelle, of Lancaster, Angie McManus and her husband, Alan, of Kershaw, Candice H. Phillips and her husband, Jeffery, of Kershaw, Jenny Reid and her husband, Billy, of Lancaster, Brian McManus and his wife, Kristy, of Lake Wylie, Jeffrey Hinson of Kershaw, Kim Stroud and her husband, Paul, of Lancaster, David McDonald of Greenville, Christi Johnson and her husband, James, of Lancaster, Lisa McManus of Lancaster, and Ashley Hinson of Kershaw; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Nora was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest "Bill" Hinson; son, Ronald E. "Ronnie" Hinson; and brothers, Wesley H. Sims and Burrell T. Sims.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, at McLean Funeral Directors. Services will be held at 3 p.m. today, April 11, at McLean Funeral Directors Mahaffey Chapel, 201 N. Catawba St., Lancaster, SC 29720.
The pastors James T. Johnson and George Bolten will be officiating with a graveside service following at Lancaster Memorial Park.
