Mrs. Pauline Louise Wright Humphries, 88, of Lancaster, widow of James Allen Humphries, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at her home. She was born Jan. 28, 1925 in Lancaster and was a daughter of the late Leroy Wright and Mamie Kennington Wright. Mrs. Humphries is survived by a son, Bobby Humphries and his wife, Linda, of Lancaster; two daughters, Barbara H. Davis of Kershaw and Iva Lee Sims of Lancaster; a sister, Gladys Rollings of Lancaster; 10 grandchildren, Lori Melton, Karen Jones, Robert Simpson, Tammy Nicholson, James Humphries, Bobby Humphries, Benji Sims, Brian Sims, Timmy Sims and Christopher Holhouser; 22 great-grandchild; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Allen Humphries; two daughters, Mae Doris Holhouser and Linda Plyler; one brother, Marion R.L.Wright; four sisters, Dean Hornback, Doris Mangum,Virginia Roof and Margarett Langley; two grandchildren, Samantha Simpson and James Peanut Davis; a great-grandchild, Eve Nicholson; and one great-great grandchild, Alyssah Totherow. Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Humphries are 2 p.m. Saturday, July 13, at Lancaster Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by the Rev. James Aldridge, with burial in Lancaster Memorial Park.
