Mr. Robert "Bobby" Glynwood Catoe, 76, of Lancaster passed away Friday, April 26, 2013, at home. He was born March 25, 1937, in Lancaster and was a son of the late Yancy W. Catoe Sr. and Lula Sistare Catoe. Mr. Catoe was very civic-minded. He was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church; a mason and shriner and he served two terms on Lancaster County Council. Mr. Catoe was a carpenter and general contractor. Mr. Catoe is survived by his wife, Margaret Keye Catoe; a son, Robert M. "Robbie" Catoe and his wife, Terry, of Virginia; three daughters, Maria Catoe Saleeby and her husband, Dan, Faith Catoe and her life partner, Scott McManus, and Jill Catoe Vespe and her husband, Michael, all of Lancaster; a brother, Billy Catoe of Lancaster; and two sisters, Lillian Galloway of Hartsville and Elsie Lowder of Florence; eight grandchildren, Danielle Saleeby, Mitchell Catoe, Hilary Saleeby, Anna Catoe Thames, Hannah Merrill, Kari Catoe, Summer Catoe and Kaitlyn Vespe; and four great-grandchildren, Calli, Maddison, Iva and Alli-Drew; Mr. Catoe was preceded in death by six brothers, Boyce Catoe, Drew Catoe, Hoke Catoe, Amos Catoe, Yancy Catoe Jr., and Roy Charles Catoe; and two sisters, Margaret Saleeby and Mary Lois Lloyd. Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Catoe were 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Spring Hill Baptist Church, officiated by the Revs. Brad Threatt and Robbie Catoe, with burial in the Spring Hill Baptist Church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Spring Hill Baptist Church building fund or food ministry, 2245 Old Camden Monroe Highway, Lancaster, SC 29720.
