GREAT FALLS – Ruth Diane Blackmon Evans, 67, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013. Funeral services are 2 p.m. today, Sept. 25, at Camp Creek United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Catoe and Dr. Ricks Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Great Falls.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. today in the Camp Creek United Methodist Church sanctuary, 4721 Great Falls Highway.
Mrs. Evans was born June 8, 1946, in Lancaster County, and was a daughter of the late Fred E. Blackmon and Katie Balkcum Blackmon. She attended the schools of Lancaster County, was retired from the food service industry, and was a member of the Senior Circle at Springs Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Camp Creek United Methodist Church and also attended Douglas Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by one brother, Ernest Blackmon and wife, Teresa, of Lancaster; one stepdaughter, Sandra Evans-Kennington and husband, Mel, of Great Falls; two stepsons, Michael Evans of Great Falls and Mark Evans of North Augusta; two step-grandchildren, Chris Kennington of Great Falls and Elliott Evans of Myrtle Beach; two nieces, Stacey Blackmon of Kershaw and Rachael Blackmon of Spartanburg; one nephew, Kevin Thompson of Lancaster; and a life-long friend, Christine Baker of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by a sister, Grace Blackmon Thompson and a stepdaughter, Amanda Evans Herlth.
