Sarah Adams Dassaro, 86, of Lancaster, died Friday, May 3, 2013, at White Oak Manor. Mrs. Dassaro was born June 12, 1926, in Lancaster and was a daughter of the late Roachel Adams and Lilly McIntosh Adams. She was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church. She worked for Springs Industries for 44 years. Mrs. Dassaro is survived by two sons, Joseph Dassaro of Lancaster and Mike Dassaro and wife, Sandra, of Lancaster; four sisters, Midge Sheley of Columbia, Vivian Adams of Lancaster, Betty Usher of Columbia and Myrtis Walters of Lancaster; 12 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren; several great- great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Paul Dassaro; a daughter, Freida Brown; a brother, R.T. Adams; sisters, Mae Bryson, Colleen Hudson, Maude Sanders, Ruth Vincent; and daughter-in-law, Jeannie Dassaro. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, at Camp Creek Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Randy Mellichamp, with interment in the church cemetery.
