LANCASTER – Mr. William Troy "Bill" Moore Jr., 77, of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at Lancaster Convalescent Center, due to complications from Parkinson's disease.

He was born Sept. 27, 1935, in Bessemer City, N.C., a son of the late William Talmadge Moore Sr. and Della Montgomery Moore. He was well-regarded by his friends as a man of generosity and admired for the perpetual kindness he showed to both man and animal. Mr. Moore was a member of Second Baptist Church, a member of IBEW and a retired electrician.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Moore will be held Friday, Jan. 11, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Lancaster Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Brian Saxon and the Rev. Larry Helm officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Lancaster Memorial Park.
Mr. Moore is survived by his wife, Martha Faulkner Moore; a son, William Randall Moore and his wife, Margaret, of Lancaster; a daughter, Tammy M. Haile and her husband, Ronnie, of Lancaster; a brother, Bobby Dean Moore and his wife, Clara, of Lancaster; three sisters, Vera Hall and her husband, Bud, Betty Catoe and Jean Culp, all of Lancaster; and two grandchildren, Graham Michael Haile and Allison Leigh Haile.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Moore; and a sister, Billie Faye Driggers.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at Lancaster Funeral Home and other times at the home, 2287 Sunnyside Drive, Lancaster.
