SUMMERVILLE – Mrs. Wilma Steele Williamson, 78, of The Village at Summerville, Presbyterian Home, passed peacefully surrounded by friends and loved ones on Aug. 20, 2013.

She was born Nov.1, 1934, in Waxhaw, N.C. and was a daughter of the late Judd Edward Hazel Steele and Mattie Elizabeth Tarlton Steele.
She was a 1952 graduate of Jackson High School and was a long-time member of Tirzah Presbyterian Church and later First Presbyterian Church of Lancaster. In addition, she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include a son, Dean Williamson of Columbia; a daughter, Christie Williamson M.D. of Lancaster; a brother and sister-in-law, John R. and Margaret G. Steele; a sister, Ruby S. Heddon of Charlotte; five grandchildren, Kelly Johnston and Taylor Williamson of Columbia, T.J., Toby, and Tori Holland, all of Lancaster; two great-grandchildren, Haley and Peyton Johnston of Columbia; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Thomas Williamson.
Graveside services are 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at Tirzah Presbyterian Church cemetery, 7507 Tirzah Church Road, Waxhaw, NC 28173, officiated by the Rev. Shane Owens.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the home of Ed and Martha Kiker, 7918 Tirzah Church Road, Waxhaw, NC 28173.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Village at Summerville Presbyterian home, 201 W. 9th North St., Summerville, SC 29483.
