Mr. Donald "Bobo" Phillips, 65, of Lancaster, passed away Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at his home.

He was born Sept. 7, 1948, in Lancaster, a son of the late Gilbert Phillips and Nellie Pearline Threatt Phillips.
He was very active and civic minded. He served Temple Baptist Church as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher. In addition, he was a devoted Gamecock fan. Mr. Phillips also enjoyed baseball, coached Dixie League Baseball and took a team to the Little League World Series. He was a devoted man and his grandchildren were dear to his heart.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Phillips is 3 p.m. today, Feb. 9, at the chapel of Lancaster Funeral Home with the Revs. Scott Robinson and Joel Rhyner officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park.
Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife, Janice Adams Phillips; a son, Randy Phillips and his wife, Pam, of Lancaster; four grandchildren, Jennifer Eury, Jonathan Phillips and fiancé, Morgan Christopher, Lauren Phillips and Brayden Phillips; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Michelle Hagins; and a brother, Daniel Keith Phillips.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. today, Feb. 9, at Lancaster Funeral Home and other times at the home.
