Mrs. Hilda Baker Knight, 88, of Lancaster, widow of Jack Arnold Knight, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Lancaster Convalescent Center.

She was born March 31, 1926, in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Arthur Scripture Baker and Jesse Cleo Baskins Baker.
Mrs. Knight was a member of Covenant Baptist Church and was retired from Springs Industries.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Knight is 11 a.m. Friday, May 16, at the chapel of Lancaster Funeral Home with the Revs. Bert Welch and Tim Howard officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park.
Mrs. Knight is survived by two sons, Lewis Arnold Knight and his wife, Cheryl, of Newton, N.C., and Richard Arthur Knight of Lancaster; a daughter, Beth K. Goude and her husband, Ricky, of Lancaster; a brother, Clelon Baker and his wife, Betty, of Myrtle Beach; three grandchildren, Kevin Knight, Jennifer Ward and Paige Autry; and four great-grandchildren, Bryce Autry, Brody Autry, Riley Ward and Emma Kate Ward.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 15, at Lancaster Funeral Home and other times at the home, 2138 Reeves Road.
