Mr. Robert Crawford "Bob" Stroud, 70, of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
He was born May 14, 1944, in Lancaster, a son of the late William Thomas Stroud and Brinnie Mary Jane Jenkins. Mr. Stroud was a member of Wannamaker Lodge No. 329 A.F.M.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Stroud is 11 a.m. Saturday, June 28, at Lancaster Funeral Home, with the Revs. Roger Anders and Jessie Adams officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park with Masonic rites.
Mr. Stroud is survived by his wife, Nancy Starnes Stroud of Lancaster; a son, Brian Stroud and his wife, Nicole, of Springfield, Va.; two stepsons, Jimmy Starnes and Marty Starnes and his wife, Jeanette, all of Lancaster; a daughter, Angela Darrow and her husband, Bill, of Lancaster; three stepdaughters, Lisa Catoe and her husband, Marvin, of Lancaster, Trish Sweeney and her husband, Tim, of Columbia and Michelle Clark and her husband, Joe, of Lancaster; two brothers, Larry Stroud and his wife, June, and Tommy Stroud and his wife, Joann, all of Lancaster; two sisters, Mildred Crooke of Kershaw and Nancy Starnes of Lancaster; 10 grandchildren, Angel Darrow, Gracyn Stroud, Andrea Hudson, Justin Catoe, Chris Steen, Michael Steen, Josh Starnes, Quinton Starnes, Eathan Johnson and Brandon Belk; and two great-grandchildren, Carson Steen and Kyndal Steen.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Calvin Stroud; and a grandchild, Brittany Starnes.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, June 27, at Lancaster Funeral Home and other times at the home of Bob and Nancy Stroud.
