Esther Margaret Sims Faulkenberry, 87, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at her home. She was born Oct. 6, 1925, in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late Stewart Sims and Effie Neal Sims and was the wife of the late Earnest Frank Faulkenberry. Mrs. Faulkenberry retired from Springs Industries, was a volunteer for Springs Memorial Hospital and HOPE in Lancaster Inc., and was a member of Covenant Baptist Church.

Mrs. Faulkenberry is survived by two daughters, Rhonda McMackin and her husband Mac of Lancaster and Sandra Baldwin of Columbia, a sister, Hazel Jewett of Kershaw; four grandchildren, Cliff McMackin and his wife, Erin, of Charlotte, Kyle McMackin of Simpsonville, Sara Margaret Strickland and her husband, John, of Columbia and Susanne Miller and her husband, Bryant, of Lexington; and three great-grandchildren, John 'Strick' and Max Strickland, and Isla McMackin.
Mrs. Faulkenberry was preceded in death by a grandson, Neil Carson McMackin and a sister, Mary Faulkenberry.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Faulkenberry will be 2:00 pm, today, Nov. 21, 2012 at Covenant Baptist Church by Rev. Dr. Bert Welch. Burial will follow at Pleasant Plain Baptist Church.
The Family of Mrs. Faulkenberry will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. today, November 21, 2012, in the church fellowship hall and suggests memorials to be made to Hospice of South Carolina, Hope of Lancaster, or Covenant Baptist Church.
