Juanita Barton Knight entered heaven on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013. She was the widow of the late Floyd Herman Knight and the daughter of the late William Troy Barton and Mary Williams Barton.

Mrs. Knight was a Christian and the last surviving charter member of White Springs Baptist Church. When illness of circumstance did not prevent, she was in attendance at her church worshipping God. She bore witness of her faith when family members observed her reading her bible and on her knees talking to God.
After rearing three children and retiring from a career with Springs Industries, Mrs. Knight traveled extensively throughout the U.S. She was a quiet and pleasant Southern lady and many were blessed by her presence and smile.
She is survived by three children, Douglas Knight and wife, Jean, of Port Huron, Mich., Becky Hammond and husband, Tim, and Barbara McManus and husband, James, all of Lancaster; one sister, Billie Snipes of Lancaster; six grandchildren, Tracey McMahon and husband, Bob, Scott Hammond and wife, Patricia, Michelle Carter, Kelly Price and husband, Brad, Shellie Clement and husband Chris, and Susan Golder and husband, Michael; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Knight was preceded in death by a son, Yancy Wilbur; two brothers, Max and Gerald Barton; and two sisters, Louise Slaton and Mary Robinson.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Knight is at McLean Funeral Directors, Mahaffey Chapel in Lancaster at 3 p.m. today, Jan. 20, 2013. The family will receive friends after the life celebration and other times at the home of Tim and Becky Hammond, 606 Rock Springs Road. There will be a private burial.
Memorials to Mrs. Knight can be made to The White Springs Baptist Church family ministry center, 100 Grace Avenue.
