KERSHAW – Funeral services for Blake Esmond Cauthen, 85, of Kershaw are at 2:00 p.m., today, April 24, 2013, at Sand Hill Baptist Church. The Revs. Charlie Simmons and Chadwick Ivester will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hanging Rock United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Cauthen, widower of Loriner Bradley Cauthen, died Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Lancaster Convalescent Center in Lancaster. Born in Kershaw, he was the son of the late Robert Edgar and Ethel Williams Cauthen. He was retired from Springs Industries. Mr. Cauthen was a lifetime member of Flat Rock Masonic Lodge #178 and a U.S. Navy Veteran. He enjoyed gardening and cutting grass. Surviving are three daughters, Delores Catoe and her husband, Mark, Kathy Gardner and her husband, Mike, all of Kershaw and Cynthia Sanders and her husband, Steve, of Stanfield, N.C.; three sons, Kenneth Cauthen and his wife, Janice, Wayne Cauthen and his wife, Terry, and Gerald Cauthen and his wife, Missy, all of Kershaw; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Earlene Phillips and her husband, Joe, of Kershaw and Irma Huckabee and her husband, Julius, of Westville. Memorials may be made to Sand Hill Baptist Church, 6895 Highway 341, Kershaw, SC 29067. Baker Funeral Home is serving the family of Mr. Cauthen.
