ROCK HILL – Mrs. Betty Joy Roddey Robinson, 80 passed away Saturday, May 11, 2013, at her home in Rock Hill. Mrs. Robinson was born May 8, 1933, in Rock Hill and was a daughter of the late Marvin and Katherine Anderson Roddey. Mrs. Robinson was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and a 1952 graduate of Lancaster High School. She was retired from Celanese Corporation in Rock Hill. She was a military wife, giving her the opportunity to travel and live in many places- including foreign countries. Mrs. Robinson enjoyed working in the yard, fishing and traveling. Betty Joy was a lifetime member of the ladies auxiliary, Veterns of Foriegn Wars Post 2889, and past district five president. Mrs. Robinson is survived by her husband, Johnnie C. Robinson; her son, Johnnie C. "J.R" and his wife, Sherry; her daughter, Trina; her sister, Bonnie and her husband, John Repaska, of Lancaster; and four grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Robinson is preceded in death by her sisters, Lavinia Ann Roddey and Marlene Ducharme. Memorial services for Mrs. Robinson were 2 p.m. Monday, May 13, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, officiated by pastor Lewis Vehaun, with entombment at Grandview Memorial Park-Cherry Road. The family will received friends form one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to the VFW Post 2889 Ladies Auxiliary, 732 W.
