Mrs. Violet Gertrude Harrison Steeley, 72, of Heath Springs passed away Monday, July 8, 2013, at her home. She was born on November 30, 1940, in Stewart County, Tenn. and was a daughter of the late Manny Harrison and Mattie Shelby Harrison. Mrs. Steeley was a homemaker and member of Vanleer Baptist Church of Vanleer, Tenn. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to crochet and spend time with her grandchildren and her family. She enjoyed listening to classic country music and gospel music.Mrs. Steeley is survived by her husband, Terry Steeley; two daughters, Darlene Steeley Faile and her husband, Kenny, of Heath Springs and Glenda Steeley Dickerson and her husband, David, of Rock Hill; three sisters, Leona Grasty of Clarksville, Tenn., Rachel Eads and Mable Powers of Dickson, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Kristy Cook, Justin Faile, Leah Faile, Bubba Faile, T-Ray Dickerson and Hunter Elizabeth Dickerson; and two great-grandchildren, Caleb Faile and Savannah Faile. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Steeley was preceded in death by a brother, Troy Harrison; and two sisters, Lorene Cherry and Clorice Cherry. Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Steeley are 11 a.m. today, July 10, at the chapel of Lancaster Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Claude Holt, with burial in the Rich Hill Baptist Church cemetery. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, at Lancaster Funeral Home and other times at the home, 1134 Billy Kirk Road, Heath Springs. Memorial contributions may be made to
