INDIAN LAND– Mrs. Rose Montag Robacker, 89, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.

She was born Oct. 3, 1924, in West Bend, Iowa, the daughter of the late Henry Montag and Luna Sloan Montag. Mrs. Robacker was first married to the late William Smith and then to the late Robert Robacker.
Mrs. Robacker retired from Pocono Mountain School District as a high school teacher. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
Mrs. Robacker is survived by a stepson, Robert Robacker and his wife, Anne, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two grandsons, Robert Robacker and his wife, Cassie, of Mount Airy, N.C., and Thomas Robacker of Chattanooga; two brothers, Martin Montag and his wife, Joyce, of Riverhead, N.Y., and Robert Montag and his wife, Dorothy, of Spokane Valley, Wash.; two sisters, Florence Allen of Creston, Iowa, and Dora Allen of Fort Dodge, Iowa; and a sister-in-law, Mary Montag of Indian Land.
Mrs. Robacker was preceded in death by six brothers, the Rev. Father Bernard Montag, Paul, Francis, John, George and Bill Montag; and five sisters, Esther Schmalen, Marguerite Wirtz, Agnes Bauer, Mary Fabian and Catherine Bristow.
The celebration of life memorial service for Mrs. Robacker is 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at the chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by the Rev. Father John Giuliani.
The family of Mrs. Robacker will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Wayne Pike Adult Literacy Program, 1406 N. Main St., Honesdale, Pa. 18431.
