Harriet (Powell) Pesek(02/07/2013)

Harriet Pesek, 90, of Starvation Lake, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013 at her home. She was born on April 9, 1922 in Ohio, the daughter of the late Russell and Ada (Snoots) Powell.
Harriet married John Pesek on Jan. 28, 1945. She received her Master's Degree in Library of Science at the University of Michigan and did her undergraduate work at Baldwin-Wallace in Berea, Ohio. Harriet worked as a children's librarian. Her hobbies included quilting and reading. Harriet taught her whole family to love reading and was an inspiration to them.
Harriet is survived by her husband, John, of 68 years; her children, John Dieterich Pesek of Newark, Del. and Christine Marie Wolf of Coral Springs, Fla.; her grandchildren, Elizabeth "Betsy" (Michael) O'Donnell of New York City and Jonathan Wolf of Nevada City, Calif.; great-grandson, Graydon O'Donnell; and sister-in-law, Naomi Powell of North Canton, Ohio.
Preceding Harriet in death was her brother, James L. Powell.
A memorial service will be held in the summer. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or your local library.
