Audrey Anderson, 88, passed away on July 6, 2011, at her daughter's home in Kalkaska. She was born on Feb. 8, 1923 in Antrim County to the late Noah and Velma (Gee) McLain.|
Audrey married Norman Anderson on May 5, 1942 in Kalkaska. Together they raised four wonderful children. Audrey and Norm were married for 64 wonderful years when he passed away in 2007. Audrey retired from Kalkaska Memorial Hospital after 25 dedicated years as a nursing aide. While working at the hospital, she also worked alongside Norm on the family farm.
Audrey was a devoted member of the Evergreen Bible Baptist Church for many years. While enjoying winters in Florida, Norman and Audrey would often visit the Tiger's spring training. She enjoyed watching Larry King and game shows on television.
Audrey is survived by her devoted children, Susan Ball of Kalkaska, Shelly (Tim) Gallia of Carrollton, Texas, Larry (Charlene) Anderson of Lakeland, Fla.; 11 cherished grandchildren; 14 1/2 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granddaughters.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Norm; her son, Terry, who also passed away in 2007; her daughter-in-law, Pamela; brother, Robert McLain; and sister, Naomi Fry.
Funeral services for Audrey were held on Saturday, July 9 at 3 p.m. at Evergreen Bible Baptist Church with visitation held two hours prior to the service. Pastor William Kuiper officiated. Burial followed immediately at Lodi Cemetery.
