Donald Harold North, 58, of Kalkaska, passed away Monday, April 29, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family. Donald was born on Dec. 4, 1954, in Traverse City to Chauncey "Doc" and June (Thomas) North.
Don served his county with honor as a corporal in the Marine Corps and later became the proud owner of Don's Mobile Auto Service for over 15 years. In his free time Donald enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping with his sons and spending time relaxing with his family, who he loved dearly. The big things in Don's life were his family and honor. The love for his wife, children, and grandchildren will be taken with him to heaven.
Don is survived by his wife Virginia (Segar) North; sons, Donny (Wendy), Dan (Shana), Chad (Jena), and Chance Jesse North; father, Chauncey "Doc" North; sisters, Cindy Zinger, Janice Franklin, and Lori North (Mike Gallo); brothers, Robert North and Johnny (Cindy) North; along with 10 grandchildren, and many close family friends.
Don was preceded in death by his mother, June (Thomas) North.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 2 at the Chapel of Kalkaska Funeral Home, 152 S. Cedar St., Kalkaska. Pastor Dan Johnson of the Kalkaska Church of Christ will officiate and burial will take place at Circle Hill Cemetery in Williamsburg.
