Elsie (Yedlicka) Tomczyk Obituary
Elsie Tomczyk, 94, of Williamsburg, passed away Friday afternoon, July 19, 2013, at Kalkaska Memorial Assisted Living. Born Feb. 25, 1919, in Irwin, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Peregrin John and Anna (Cipra) Yedlicka.
On November 26, 1938, in Pittsburgh Pa., she married Leo William Tomczyk, who preceded her in death.
Elsie will be fondly remembered for the love and caring ways she had for her family. She enjoyed life tremendously and shared her joy with many.
Elsie is survived her children, Elaine Grant (Chester, Jr.), Wayne (Anne-Lee), and David (Kathleen); one brother, LCDR Karel E. (late Dorothy); and daughter-in law, Fay Tomczyk; grandchildren: Lisa Tomczyk Hovey (Matthew,) Laura Tomczyk Robertson (Joe), Lance Tomczyk (Jill), Chester Grant, III, Leo Grant (Tammy), Lincoln Grant (Natasha), April Grant Carroll (Thomas), Jennifer Tomczyk Anderson (Keith), Jill Tomczyk Zafonte (Matthew), and Crystal Tomczyk Berens (Colin); great-grandchildren: Ronny Hovey, Leo Hovey, Jack Robertson, Mike Robertson, Kate Tomczyk, Aaron Tomczyk, Chase Grant, Eric Grant, Kennedy Grant, Carter Grant, Gwen Carroll, Nolan Carroll, Miles Anderson, Madeline Zafonte, Nolan Zafonte, Charlotte Berens, and Caroline Berens,
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Tomczyk; 10 siblings, Irene Yedlicka, Agnes Gairing (Erwin), Anna Taube (Fritz), Ernest, James (wives Ruth and Mary Jane), Mildred Yates (Ronald), Louis (Ann), Johnnie, Rose Griffith (Walter), and Emil.
Memorial Services will be held at Feast of Victory Lutheran Church, 4400 Mount Hope Road, Willliamsburg, on Monday, July 22, 2013, at Noon, with Rev. James Hilman officiating. Cremation has taken place.
In remembrance of Elsie, memorial contributions may be directed to Feast of Victory Lutheran Church. Envelopes may be obtained at the service.
