Hicks, Bobby  
Bobby C. Hicks Bobby C. Hicks passed away at his residence in Clarksville on February 23, 2015 at the age of 77. He was born on January 1st, 1938 in Birmingham, AL. He was retired from the United States Army and was self-employed as a welder. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Seay Hicks of Clarksville; a son, Bobby Markel; four daughters, Kellie Nichols, Susan Manchester, Dawn Motes, and Donna Wade. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held at 6 p.m on Monday, March 2, from the Chapel of Gateway Funeral Home. Hyatt Sr., Lewis Paul  
Lewis Paul Hyatt, Sr. Lewis Paul Hyatt, Sr., age 96, passed away on February 24, 2015 in Henrico, VA of natural causes. He was a native of Alabama, but lived and worked in Tennessee for 67 years. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942-1946, a World War II veteran. His wife, Martha, preceded him in death in 1995 and their son, Lewis, passed away in 2013. He was Professor Emeritus at APSU where he taught American History and all the social sciences for 39 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, and a faithful member of the Brotherhood Sunday School class which he taught periodically for 50 years. He was a graduate of Jacksonville State University (AL), and Peabody/Vanderbilt where he earned his Masters and Doctorate degrees. He was an avid football fan, hunter, gardener, hobbyist, reader and pet lover. Dr. Hyatt is survived by three daughters, Resa C. Hyatt of Hartsel, CO, Nancy Hyatt Wilmink (Mrs. Dave Wilmink) of Henrico VA and Della Hyatt DeLay (Mrs. Mike DeLay) of Alpharetta, GA; two sons-in-law; three grandchildren, April Leigh Wilmink Browning (Mrs.Joel Browning), David Andrew ("Drew") Wilmink and Miles Hyatt DeLay, E4 USN; three great grandchildren, Eli and Ivy Wilmink, and Ethan Browning. A service will be held 12 noon, Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Mt. Oak United Methodist Church in Ruth, AL. Burial will follow in his nearby hometown, Arab, AL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Brotherhood Class of First Presbyterian Church, 213 Main Street, Clarksville, TN 37040. Huddleston Sr., William Marlin  
Bill Huddleston Funeral services for Mr. William Marlin Huddleston, Sr. (affectionately known as Outlaw), age 92 of Cookeville, will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 1st in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow in the Salem Cemetery. Rev. Bill Stone will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4-6 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Huddleston died Wednesday, February 25, 2015 in his hometown of Cookeville, TN. He was born on September 7, 1922 in Cookeville to the late Perry Herman and Beulah Brown Wilhite Huddleston. Bill graduated from Cookeville Central High School in 1942. Immediately after his graduation, Bill joined the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. Bill and his three older brothers all served honorably in the U.S. Military during WWII. After his military service, Bill returned to Cookeville and earned his undergraduate degree in 1949 from Tennessee Polytechnic Institute (TTU). He later worked for and retired from Acme Boot Co. in Clarksville, TN where he served as the Assistant Secretary Treasurer. Bill was a longtime member of Cookeville First Baptist Church. Bill lived life to the fullest. His recent years in Cookeville were filled with dancing, playing cards, and writing his book. He spent many mornings with friends at Hardees, and looked forward to meals and activities at the senior center each week. As a proud veteran of the U.S. Military, Bill was honored as a lifetime member of VFW Cookeville Post 6296, served on the Veterans Honor Guard and was a dedicated contributor to the Putnam County Military Museum. Bill impressed everyone he met with his charm, style, and kindness. He cherished time with family and friends and filled many lives with love and joy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Waller and two brothers, Bob Huddleston and John Huddleston. Survivors include his former wife, Daphine Grimsley Huddleston of Cookeville; six sons, Bob (Brenda) Wilson of Clarksville, Rick Wilson, Marlin Huddleston, both of Kailua-Kona, HI, Mike (Nancy) Huddleston of Greenback, TN, Marty (Beth) Huddleston of Wears Valley, TN and Matt Huddleston of Clarksville, TN; grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brother, Ken Huddleston of Manchester, TN and two sisters, Annette Matheny and Connie Norton, both of Cookeville. Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to Putnam County Veteran's Hall, c/o Glenn Jones, 121 B.
