Albert T. Schlag, (Mr. Al) 66, of Hopkinsville, KY passed away Thursday October 24, 2013 at his daughter's residence in Bowling Green, KY. Albert was born May 24, 1947 in Alexandria, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Thomas Schlag, Sr. and Edna Virginia Evans Schlag.

Albert served in the Vietnam War with the USMC and retired from the U.S. Army with 20 years of service. After retiring from the Army, Albert became a beloved presence in the Ft. Campbell School System. He dedicated himself to the Ft. Campbell Falcons and SPED Students at Mahaffey Middle School.

Albert is survived by his wife of 43 years, Martha Schlag, two daughters Amy Elizabeth Schlag and her partner, Dr. Katie R. Peel of Wilmington, NC and Allyson Elaine Schlag-Hall of Bowling Green, one sister, Mary Virginia Foos (Dennis) of Williamsburg, VA and one brother, Buddy Blake of Colonial Beach, VA., and the joys of his life, grandchildren Cody Garrett Hall, Lauren Elizabeth Hall and Carleigh Alisa Schlag. Several nieces; and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at J. C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Visitation will be Monday from 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time of services. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, KY with Military Honors. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of J. C.
