Ejebert J. Allen
Ejebert J. Allen, age 93 of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Fieldstone Place.
E.J. was born on January 19, 1921 in McRoberts, KY to the late Kelly Orville Allen and Tressie Craft Allen. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Pearl Couch Allen; four brothers, Kelly O. Allen, Jr., Grant Allen, Eugene Allen and Thomas O. Allen; daughter, Deborah Lynn Allen.
E.J. is survived by his son-in-law, Dr. W. Bailey Allen and grandchildren, W. Bailey Allen III and Elizabeth A. Lane.
E.J. attended high school in Elizabethton, TN and attended Milligan College before World War II
. After the war, E.J. attended the University of Tennessee and Lipscomb College in Nashville, TN. He received his CPA in 1961.
E.J. served with the 83rd Airdrome Squadron attached to the Third Army Air Force from 1942 until September 1945. The squadron was stationed in England until D-Day and then served in France, Germany, and other European countries until September 1945. He attained the rank of Technical Sergeant.
After returning home, E.J. was employed by Johnson City Press, Inc. for a year and then returned to school in the accounting field. In the following years, E.J. was employed by Hindereer, Baylor, Bacus CPA in Johnson city, TN and Wellco Shoe Machinery, Inc. in Waynesville, NC.
E.J. was Controller of Avco Aerostructures in Nashville, TN until he retired in 1980 and opened an accounting firm where he practiced until he retired in 1988. One of his clients at the firm was John Rochford, who owned numerous companies and partnerships including Rochford Realty and Construction, Inc. and St. Paul Retirement Home. E.J. was director of these companies. E.J. assisted Mr. John Rochford in planning, accounting, taxes, reporting, and other financial functions.
E.J. and his wife, Pearl moved to Clarksville, TN in 1998. E.J. was a member of Unitarian Church in Nashville, TN for 30 years, where he served as director and treasurer.
E.J. donated his body to Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, therefore no services are planned.
