My Condolences to the Lombardi Family

September 6, 2010

Col Lombardie was Deputy Commander, during a time when I was the Administrative Office at the Staff Chaplain,s Office at Fort Campbell. It was a great pleasure to know him. He was always supportive of The Chaplain,s Programs and Budgets. As a matter of fact, I do not remember ever hearing of anyone who did not appreciate him and his work. The military was fortunate to have such a man within its ranks.
My prayers and thoughts are with the family. My God bless you all. Mary Rhoads

How fortunate I was to serve under the "Godfather". As a young Battery Commander in the 320th Artillery, he taught me the true meaning of leadership and command. Serving with him was a true pleasure. His counsel has stayed with me for a lifetime.

Well done, soldier. God's blessings. Be thou at peace.

"Dee" and Family,
Leone and I and the 320th Field Artillery Association send our sincere condolances.
We are indebted to "The Godfather of the 320th. Art and Dee attended many of our reunions and helped us get up and running when we were a fledgling Association. Art had a way of doing things with a flair. I remember well at a reunion we had a huge sheet cake with the 320th FA and Crossed Cannons on it and Art produced a Samari Sword to cut it.
The 320th FA has lost a Great Man and a true friend. Rest in peace Sir.
