My memories of Judge Wallace are numerous! Loved his straightforwardness on the bench. "What do you mean you can't afford an attorney, take that gold off your neck and pawn it and pay for your attorney" I can many other quotes but you get the jest. Always the story teller and always had a joke to tell.

Judge Wallace was a good judge and a good man. He will be missed.

April 18, 2011

I first met Judge Wallace in the fall of 1973. I had just become a State Trooper and was assigned to Humphreys County. In the course of my duties, I arrested or ticketed a number of individuals Judge Wallace represented in court. Judge Wallace paid me the highest compliment I ever received as a law enforcement officer. When my law enforcement career ended, he continued to be a stead fast friend and encourager. He will be missed. David D. Garland (Brownsville, TN)

Judge Wallace will always hold a special place in the hearts of all of us in the Madison County Chancery Court Clerk's Office in Jackson. One of the first times he sat on the bench here was right after the unexpected and sudden death of our then sitting chancellor (Joe C. Morris, in 2003) This was a very difficult time for us, made so much easier because of his grace, knowledge and ability to step in and take over the day to day operations of our court until a new chancellor could be appointed.

Over the years since that time we have had the priviledge of working with him on many occasions. He was one of the most humble, gracious judges to sit on the bench.

He was a true servant in the judicial system and we will all miss him dearly.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this time.
