Gerald Thomas Craven

Gerald "Tom" Craven, age 59 of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013 at Vanderbilt Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Tom, the oldest son of Gerald and Gladys Craven, was born in 1953 in Birmingham, AL.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Pastor Brian Baggett officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West in Hopkinsville, KY. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 17, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. and Tuesday, June 18, 2013 from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

A veteran of the Persian Gulf War, Tom served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged after a 20 year career with them. After retiring from the service, he worked 18 years for Print Excel and most recently worked for Transient Alert as an Aircraft Servicer. His greatest passions were spending time with his family, fishing, and hunting. He was the most selfless person, always teaching by example as friends and family will attest.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Margot Craven of Clarksville, TN; two sons, Marcus Craven and his wife Brooke of Clarksville, TN and Morris Craven and his wife Michelle of Warner Robins, GA; brother, Morris (Robin) Craven of Clarksville, TN; two sisters, Peggy (Wilfredo) Suco of Lakeland, FL and Melody Craven of Oldsmar, FL; and four grandchildren, Marcus and Brooke's daughter, Madeline and Morris and Michelle's sons, Peyton, Cameron, and Greyson.
