 Learah Bernice Smith
Learah Bernice Smith, age 60 of Clarksville, died June 20, 2012 at Clarksville Manor Nursing & Rehab.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 12 Noon, at Greater Missionary Baptist Church, with Pastor Willie Freeman, Eulogist. Burial will be in KY Veterans Cemetery-West at 2 p.m. Visitation will be from 12 Noon to 8 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2012 at the funeral home, family present from 6-8 p.m.
She was born October 1, 1947 in Columbus, GA, the daughter of Curtis A. Walker and Mamie L. Milner Walker. She was the wife of Douglas R. Smith, Sr.
She is preceded in death by her father, Curtis A. Walker, and sister and brother, Curtisteen Childs, Dr. James E. Walker.
She was a member of Greater Missionary Baptist Church, where she served Usher Ministry, Nursery Ministry, Angelic choir Director, Minister, Deacon and trustee Wives. She worked as a Contract Specialist at Ft. Campbell, KY.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 45 years, Douglas R. Smith, Sr., Clarksville, TN; children, Wondia D. Smith, Clarksville, TN, Tina R. Smith, Houston, TX, Douglas R. Smith, Jr., Clarksville, TN; grandchildren, Chantel B. Smith, Brittany N. Smith and Wondia R. Smith, all of Houston, TX, and Sade' D. Smith, Clarksville, TN; great-granddaughter, Layla R. Smith-Harrison, Houston, TX; mother, Mamie L. Walker, Columbus, GA; sisters, Mary Peterson, Chicago, IL, Paulette Holston, Columbus, GA; brother, Anthony Quinn, Columbus, GA; a host of family and friends.
