Robbie D. Smith, age 92 of Clarksville, TN, peacefully passed away on Friday, December 28, 2012 in Brentwood, TN. She was born on July 29, 1920 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Freeland Paul DeFriese and Valeria Lowe DeFriese. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ed Smith; son, Larry Smith; and two sisters, Betty Dixon and Ruth DeFriese.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Dr. John David Laida, Dr. Roger Freeman, and Rev. Larry Riley officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 30, 2012 from 2-5 p.m. and Monday, December 31, 2012 from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Robbie was an active member of First Baptist Church and former teacher of Love Sunday School Class. She was also a former volunteer coordinator for the American Red Cross.
She is survived by two daughters, Beckie (Bob) Hultman and Vivian (Britt) Stephens of Brentwood, TN; daughter-in-law, Tricia Yardley Smith of Louisville, KY; sister, Billie Delaney of Charlotte, NC; seven grandchildren, Andrea Hultman, Matt Smith, Ashley Hultman, Sarah (Dan) Rohrer, Scott (Maleah) Stephens, Megan Stephens, and Rebecca Stephens; and three great grandchildren, Tobin, Evan, and Lauren.
Pallbearers will be Shan Smith, Billy Walker, Bill Fitzgerald, David Morton, Bob Fort, and Bobby Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be the Love Sunday School Class.
