Thomas Leon Hammons

Thomas Leon Hammons, age 62 of Woodlawn, TN, died on Monday, April 9, 2012 at his residence.

He was born on August 12, 1949 in Marlin, TX to the late Thomas Hammons and Juanita Faye Glidewell. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Vicki Pace.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 11 a.m., at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel, with Rev. Jerry Harwell officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West, with Full Military Honors. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 from 4-8 p.m., and Thursday, April 12, 2012 from 9 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Thomas was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was also a bus driver for the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Hammons of Woodlawn, TN; two sons, Thomas Lee Hammons of Clarksville, TN and John Clayton of Russellville, KY; a daughter, Christy Hammons of Clarksville, TN; two sisters, Edna Witzke of Oklahoma and Carolyn Ann Irish of Gatesville, TX; and four grandchildren, Christopher, Jennifer, Jacob and Nathanial.

Military will serve as Pallbearers.
