Byde Simpson

Edna Byde Sanders Simpson, age 83 of Erin, TN, passed away January 25, 2014 in Nashville, TN.

She was born in Slayden, TN to Dudley and Fronie Lewis Sanders on March 21, 1930. She graduated from Houston County High School in Erin, and attended Austin Peay State University. "Miss Byde" was a highly respected and much loved banker, retiring in 1994 as President and CEO of Regions Bank in Erin. She was an active member of the National Association of Banking Women, and served as president of the Tennessee Association of Banking Women.

She was a member of the Erin First United Methodist Church, The Houston Co. Chamber of Commerce, and the Golden Agers. She served on the board of the Erin Library and Trinity Hospital.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, C.M. "Rusty" Simpson; and one sister, Helen Green.

She is survived by sisters, Mildred Cantrell of Goodlettsville and Ginny Fussell of Erin; daughters, Lynne (Steve) Shores and Annette (Dale) Pacetti of Brentwood; and 4 grandchildren, Rebecca (Cory) Fox of Bentonville, AR, Margaret (Wes) Pedicini of Memphis, and Will and Virginia Pacetti of Brentwood.

Visitation will be held at Erin First United Methodist Church on January 27, 2014 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., with the funeral service to follow at 1:30 p.m., with the Reverend Ken Wallace officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Nave Funeral Home of Erin is handling the funeral arrangements.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to Gentiva Hospice, the staff of The Blakeford at Green Hills, and the precious caregivers from Blakeford at Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Erin First United Methodist Church.
