Obituary Condolences

Robert F. Jones, Jr.

Robert F. Jones, Jr. died peacefully in Columbus, OH on March 3rd, 2013. He was 87 years old. He is now in Heaven with his wife of 58 years, Emily Dee Marshall Jones, who preceded him in 2006. Emily Dee was the daughter of James Polk Marshall and Mary Beaumont Marshall of Rossview.

Bob is survived by two children, R. Marshall Jones (Irene) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Margaret J. Kissel (John) of Columbus, OH; 4 grandchildren, Kyle Jones, Emily K. Porensky (Paul), Jimmy Kissel and Andrew Kissel; and his younger brother, Brandon Jones of Hot Springs, AR.

His sister, Rosemary Hall, preceded him in death.

Bob Jones was born April 24, 1925 in Blythe, GA. He earned his B.S. in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Georgia and his M.A. in Education from Alfred College. Bob taught engineering at the University of Tennessee at Martin and Alfred College, NY.

The family moved to Ohio in the 1950's for Bob to work for B.F. Goodrich, designing both wheel and brake systems for jet airplanes and tire building machines. Few people knew that his engineering background was not aeronautical, but agricultural.

Throughout their lives, they were active church members and volunteers in their local communities. To many, Bob may have been best known for serving others with his unique ability to fix almost anything by envisioning how it worked. Bob always felt a special bond with his wife's Tennessee family.

A funeral service and burial will take place Saturday, April 13th at 11 a.m., at Grace Chapel, Rossview.

In lieu of flowers, please make any gifts to "The Marshall Scholarship Fund at Grace Chapel" c/o Julia Meadows, 3270 Port Royal Rd., Adams, TN 37010.

Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Service, (614) 457-5481.
