Thomas Curtis McWhorter

Thomas Curtis McWhorter, age 88 of Clarksville, went to be with the Lord Monday, December 2, 2013 at his residence.

A celebration of his life will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Pleasant View Baptist Church, with Rev. James Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 p.m. till 6 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home, and 9 a.m. until the hour of service at Pleasant View Baptist Church.

Curtis was born, February 7, 1925 in Montgomery County, TN, son of the late Luther and Lela Bryant McWhorter. He was a retired Steel worker with McLouth Steel and a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Powers McWhorter.

Curtis is survived by his children, Ronald McWhorter and his wife Joyce McWhorter of Memphis, and Cathy Holloway of Clarksville. He was grandfather to Rebecca Blackstock (Sam) and Brian Holloway, and a great-grandfather of two; sister, Clara Hodges of Cunningham; brothers, Joe McWhorter of Tampa, FL, Wayne McWhorter of Cunningham and Cragon McWhorter of Tennessee Ridge. He was also survived by his faithful caregiver, Carol Hogue.

Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers.
