LAKELAND - Margaret Susan Setliff (Martin), beloved wife of 56 years to W. Wade Setliff, passed away peacefully from cardiac arrest on Tuesday, January 28, 2014.
Sue was born on October 10, 1934 to E. Snow and Mary Martin in Bartow, Florida. Sue graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in History Education and where she was a member of Kappa Delta sorority. Afterward, she taught world history at Plant High School in Tampa. Her dedication to learning continued to be evinced by extensive reading, widespread travel and her determined pursuit of a master's degree in Rehabilitative Counseling at the University of South Florida with a 3.8 GPA. Sue's fondness for all-things British is well known to all those who know and love her.
She is survived by her husband Wade, her children Samuel, Susie and William. Her siblings E. Snow, Jr., Michael, Ce-celia, Stephen and Thomas also survive her. She leaves seven adoring grandchildren, Annabelle, Alistair, Cameron, Michael, Madeline, Trixie and Wynn, and scores of nieces and nephews. Sue was pre-deceased by an infant son, John Michael.
A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, February 1st at All Saints' Episcopal Church, 202 S Massachusetts Ave, Lakeland, FL 33801. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sue's memory may be made to All Saints' Church to support the building fund.
