I am so saddened to learn that Jan has passed. We were at Smith together, and she was truly a beautiful person. I remember her kindness, her love of life, creativity, and brilliance: she had an inner glow that I loved to see. I am glad I have these wonderful memories of her, but I'm still sorry she is gone too soon. Jan will be in my heart forever.

Jan and I have been close friends since our first day moving into the Cushing House dorm as freshmen at Smith College. I knew her when she could kick higher than a Rockette! We were to celebrate our 40th college reunion this year. Though living on different coasts, we were always close--having shared our lifetimes of joys and sorrows, strengths and weaknesses- supporting each other with love.
Jan, I miss you already, but will keep your love and light and wisdom in my heart for the rest of my days.

My sincerest condonlences to Janice's husband and family. I just had dinner with her the Friday before she passed. My only consolation is that Janice was a good soul, and she, as I, believed in God. So, I know that she is resting comfortably in another place.
