SHIRLEY ANN MASTERS, 79 EATON PARK - Shirley A. Masters was born March 2, 1935, and passed away on December 15, 2014, due to pneumonia. She owned and worked for 40 years making custom draperies. She was always involved in her church, First Baptist of Eaton Park. She loved painting, cooking and sewing. Shirley loved her family more than anything except she had to include her favorite pet dogs, Jake and of course Bandit, which will now be lost without her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Brantley Masters. She is survived by her five children, Janice (Ellis) Hornsby, Wayne Masters, Buddy (Ellen) Masters, Patti (Ted) Blau, and Linda Lyons, six grandchildren, Sharon Roberts, Chris Blau, Heather Johnston, Brantley Masters, Mac Masters, and Leah Fussell Smith, and five great grandchildren, Madison Roberts, Hunter Roberts, Ryleigh Johnston, Katrina 'Trina' Fussell, and Little Allen Fussell; plus her and daddy helped raise five other children. Her door was always open for anyone in need. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 19, 2014, at 1 pm at First Baptist Church of Eaton Park.

BEATRICE B. MITCHELL, 75 Polk Co. School Board BARTOW - Mrs. Beatrice B. Mitchell, age 75, died of heart failure Tuesday, December 9, 2014, in Lakeland. Born in Bartow on April 4, 1939, she was a retired secretary for the Polk County School Board. She was a member of Eagle Lake Assembly of God. Mrs. Mitchell is survived by sons Michael (Jackie) Mitchell, Danny Mitchell, both of Lakeland; sisters Ella Robinson, New York, Airdean Russell, Bartow, and a host of grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Williams Funeral Home, Bartow. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Assembly Ministries, Mulberry.

McKAY, ANN FORDHAM  
ANN FORDHAM McKAY, 91 WINTER HAVEN - Ann Yarbrough Fordham McKay, 91, passed away on December 14, 2014. Born on September 10, 1923, in Birmingham, Alabama, Ann was the daughter of Dewitt Clinton Yarbrough and Leila Mary Cole Yarbrough. Ann moved to Tampa, Florida, at an early age. In 1947 she married John Wilkes (Jack) McKay and moved to Winter Haven, Florida. Jack earned his degree from the University of Florida in 1931 and proudly served his country during World War II. An electrical engineer, Jack spent his career with Tampa Electric Company. Jack passed away in 1993. Prior to her marriage to Jack, Ann lost her first husband, Marion Clifton Fordham, Jr. while Cliff was serving his country in World War II. Ann was active in the Winter Haven community, and was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Ann served on the Altar Guild, as well as the St. Agnes Guild, which produced her treasured Cypress Gardens Cookbook. Ann started a family tradition of giving the cookbook to new brides and grooms in the family. A devoted Mother, Ann served as a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader, Cub Scout Den Mother, and was a long time member of the Winter Haven Garden Club. A founder of the Winter Haven Cotillion, Ann also enjoyed her work with the Florida Club. Ann was a beautiful and elegant wife, and a loving Mother and Grandmother. Her family is deeply saddened by her passing, but know that she is reunited with her beloved Jack. Ann is survived by her daughters Mary Ann (Jack) Bruda of Jacksonville, Penny (John) Updike of Lake Wales, and her son John (Michelle) McKay of Bradenton. Ann's beauty and light lives on through her 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2014, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Winter Haven. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Garden of the Cross, St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
