DEREK DEWAYNE BALLANCE, 33 AUBURNDALE - Derek Dewayne Ballance, 33, passed away 3/23/15. He is survived by parents, Dennis and Brenda Ballance; brother Dennis P. Ballance Jr.; sister, Brandy Gregory; grandmother, Vernie Corley of Haines City, FL; children, Daniel Wooten, Clayton Mcnair, Kara Barboza, Bradlee Ballance; and fianceé, Amber Swain. Memorial services will be held at the Way at Inwood Church in Winter Haven, 1302 33rd St. N.W., Winter Haven, on April 11th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Family and friends are asked to bring a dish. Any flowers can be delivered that morning.

DONNA LYNN CHAPMAN, 63 WINTER HAVEN - Donna Lynn Chapman, 63, of Winter Haven died Sunday, March 29, 2015, in Lakeland. She was born October 2, 1951, in Brundidge, AL. Donna dedicated her career to the banking industry. She enjoyed international travel, music, and spending time with family. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and served as pianist for a number of years. She was preceded in death by her parents Holcombe and 'Jean' Chapman and is survived by her sister Wanda (Keith) Whaley; stepmother Shir-ley Chapman; nephew Nathan (Amanda) Whal-ey; niece Shelly (Jaime) Calzada; and 5 great nephews. Visitation will be held Tuesday (today) March 31, 2015, from 5-7 PM at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at 2 PM at the funeral home with interment to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to oakridgefuneralcare.com .

HARMON, FREDA E.  
FREDA E. HARMON, 89 MANLIUS, N.Y. - Freda E. Harmon of Manlius, NY, and previously of Lakeland, FL, and Fair Haven, Baldwinsville and Fulton, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2015. She was 89 years old. Freda was born on September 10, 1925, in Laceyville, PA, to Jay and Angie Carter. She graduated from the Robert Packer Hospital School of Nursing in Sayre, PA, in 1946. On May 14, 1948, she married the love of her life, Paul Harmon, in Ithaca, NY. After moving to Fulton, NY, Freda worked as a registered nurse at the A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital for 12 years, and later as an industrial nurse for 20 years with Armstrong World Industries, where she retired in 1986. She was a member of the North Lakeland Presbyterian Church and the Sandpipers Golf and Country Club, both in Lakeland, FL. Freda had a wonderful, witty sense of humor, and never met a stranger. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, a caring mother and grandmother, a compassionate friend, and a talented nurse. Freda is survived by her loving husband, Paul Harmon, five daughters, Linda Harmon (Doug Mack) of Bristol, VT, Diane (Donald) Kastler of Hilton Head, SC, Deborah (Thaddeus) Lewkowicz of Manlius, NY, Susan (Robert) Barry of Fulton, NY, Sherri Wakeham (Terrance Glancy) of Auburn, NY, one son, Bear (Carol) Harmon of Fulton, NY, and one sister, Luna Maurer of Hauppauge, NY. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sister, Grace, her brothers, Boyce, George, Harry, and Mark, and her grandson, Jason. A calling hour will be 11a.m. to 12 pm on Wednesday, April 1 with a service to follow at noon at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton, NY. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Freda's life. Burial will be in Mt. Adnah Cemetery in Fulton, NY, at a later date. Condolences can be sent to Foster Funeral Home. JUDY HUNLEY McGRATH, 70 AUBURNDALE - Judy H. McGrath, 70, passed away March 14, 2015, due to complications from major surgery. She was born in Miami, FL May 6, 1944, to Noel R. and Billie Saine Hunley. Judy graduated from Lakeland Senior High School and worked in admissions at Florida Southern College, then was a medical secretary to a psychologist in Tampa, FL. Judy was secretary to the project manager of WED Design during construction of Disney World. She visited numerous countries as an administrative assistant to the President of Tupperware. Later she was a travel guide and convention planner, who made many trips within the United States and abroad. She was a member of the Kissimmee Woman's Club. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, and grandparents, Dave and Mattie Sain of Manchester, TN and Walter W. and Lorena Hunley of Chattanooga, TN. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, John McGrath of Poinciana, FL; sister, Patricia Hunley Berges of TN, and numerous nieces and nephews.
