MARY HEIGHTON, 92 WINTER HAVEN - Mary Heighton, age 92, of Winter Haven, FL, passed away June 25, 2015. She was born in Franklin, TN. Mary was preceded in death by her daughter Diane Alsup. She is survived by her loving husband Herold Heighton; daughters Suzanne Wilcox and Lynn Davis; 8 grandchildren (all of whom graduated college), and 11 great grandchildren. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who enjoyed being a homemaker, animal lover, world travel, shopaholic and butterfly collector. She will be forever in our hearts.

DORIS JOSEPHINE 'JO' WATSON KNOX, 91 ATLANTA, GA. - Doris Josephine 'Jo' Watson Knox passed away peacefully on June 29, 2015, in her home at Brookdale of Dunwoody. She was 91 1/2 years old. Jo was born in St. Petersburg, FL, to Emma Lee Saunders Watson and Joseph Q. Watson. She graduated from Hugh Morson High School in Raleigh, NC, and attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, formerly Women's College in Greensboro, NC. Jo married Earl Leamon Knox in 1943. After living in Raleigh for many years as a homemaker and wife, she retired with Earl to Winter Haven, FL, to be near her sister, Janey Lee Watson Ruby and family, long-time friends, and several of Earl's University of Georgia veterinary classmates. Following the deaths of her husband and sister, she moved to Atlanta, GA, in 2003 to be near her daughter. Since 2004, she had enjoyed living at Brookdale of Dunwoody. There she was an avid bridge player, loved crossword puzzles, socializing with friends, and participated in numerous activities, such as water aerobics and watching classic movies. Survivors include daughter Jannell Knox of Atlanta, GA, and son Kevin Lee Knox, daughter-in-law Tryna, grandsons Chandler, Griffin and Graham Knox of Dallas, TX, and other loving relatives in FL, NC, and CO. Jo will be buried near her husband in Florida's National Cemetery in Bushnell, Sumter Co. A visitation for family and friends will be held at Fischer Funeral Care, 3742 Chamblee Dunwoody Road, Atlanta, GA, 30341 on July 16, 2015, from 5 PM to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the University of Georgia's College of Veterinary Medicine.

McArthur, Milton Patrick "Pat"  
M.P. 'PAT' McARTHUR, 88 LAKELAND - Milton Patrick 'Pat' McArthur, 88, of Lakeland passed away peacefully on June 29, 2015. He was born in Bascom, FL, and graduated from FSU with a degree in Geology. His career in the phosphate industry for over 35 years included positions at Davidson Chemical Co., W.R. Grace & Co. and culminated as VP and GM for Occidental Chemical Co. in Lake City. He and his wife of 47 years, Myra, then moved back to Lakeland and enjoyed an active life with many close friends and family before Myra passed away in 1997. His life did not stand still, however, as he enjoyed all that life offered with growing grandchildren, old friends and new ones. Pat was preceded in death by his wife, Myra, and his brother Jimmy McArthur. He is survived by his daughter Phala McArthur Amey Dayton , Bradenton, FL, daughter Amy McArthur Hester Ben , Columbus, OH, four grandchildren, Erin Amey Chris Killoran , Cameron Amey fiancée Allie Mazzia , Caitlin Smith Evan and Maggie Hester; brother Mike Mc-Arthur; sisters Mary Lou Hughes, Bessie Nieto, Lelia Wolfe; and many others in a large extended family. Visitation will be Saturday July 4, 11am - 1pm at Pat's home at 6712 Crews Wood Lane, Lakeland, followed by a private family service at 2pm in the Memorial Garden at First Presbyterian Church Lakeland. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Advent Christian Village, P.O. Box 4305, Dowling Park, FL, 32064. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.heathfuneralchapel.com
