BROWN, 75

SEBRING - Judith Marion Brown was granted her angel wings at the age of 75 on May 21, 2013, due to congestive heart failure. Her final days were spent surrounded by devoted family at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring, Florida.
Judy was a 50 year resident of Lake Wales, the former wife of the late Jimmie Brown and a retired LPN at Lake Wales Hospital.
She deeply loved her family and friends and enjoyed the ocean, music and spending time with her pets.
Judy is survived by her loving children, Mary Lou Ambrose, Jennifer Brantley and husband Danny Brantley, Shannon Brown and wife Judy Lee Brown; beloved grandchildren Daisy Marx, Joe Nations, Shanna Nations, Lauren Johnson, Amy Lee Brown, Brandy Mundy and Hunter Brantley; treasured great grandchildren Alyssa Brantley, Dylan Marx, Connor Marx and Logan Mundy; best friend Becky Campbell.
In lieu of a memorial service and flowers, donations may be made to Judy's favorite charity, the ASPCA, or Good Shepherd Hospice of Sebring, where Judy received compassionate care.

BUCHANAN, 90

LAKE ALFRED - Lois "Allie" Buchanan, 90, of Lake Alfred passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at the Good Shepherd Hospice Residence Center, of natural causes.
Born May 28, 1922 in Chattanooga, TN, she moved here in 1953. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Winter Haven.
She is preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Cordell T. Buchanan and a son, William L. Buchanan. She is survived by her son, Jim C. Buchanan and his wife Malinda of Auburndale; 2 granddaughters, Jennifer and Sandra Buchanan; and a daughter-in-law, Wanda Buchanan.
The family will receive friends from 10:00am until 11:00am, Friday, May 24, 2013 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. A Graveside service will follow at Lakeside Memorial Park. FROSTPROOF - Dorothy L. "Nanny" Carter, 82, of Frostproof went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 after a long battle with COPD.
She was born December 29, 1930 in Thomasville, Georgia to the late William H. and Mary J. (Gaicwious) Lucas and has been a resident of this area since 1955. Dorothy worked for 37 years in the cafeteria at Frostproof Jr. and Sr. High School and attended God's Family Assembly Church in Frostproof.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ike Carter; 2 brother and 3 sisters.
Survivors include her sons, Buster and wife Frieda Carter and Chandler and wife Pamela Carter, both of Frosproof; 8 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, May 25, 2013 at God's Family Assembly Church with Rev. Wrynn Collins officiating. Interment will be held at the Silver Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 2:00 PM until service time.

LAKELAND - Mrs. Verna Crawford died Wednesday, May 22 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center of heart failure.
Mrs. Crawford graduated from Winter Haven High School in 1958, attended the University of Florida, and was a member of Gamma Mu 3509 Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha, a service sorority for 40 years.
Verna was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Thomas, her daughter, Alexis C. Livesay (Steven), son Timothy H. Crawford (Jamie), 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and sister, Joyce Balentine.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 25, at 10 AM at Heath Funeral Chapel with a reception following in the Tribute Center.
