EISENHAUER, 85

LAKELAND - Captain A.L. "Ike" Eisenhauer, 85, of Lakeland and Winter Haven passed from this world Friday morning September 6, 2013 from complications of a massive stroke.
Ike was an icon in the aviation industry and known throughout the world. Originally from Pennsylvania, Ike traveled the world many times. His exploits were the source of a best selling expose "The Flying Carpetbagger." His wife, an author herself, is Rev. Patricia Eisenhauer of Lakeland, with whom he has been collaborating on another aviation biographical book: "Around the World in 41,833 Hours."
Captain Eisenhauer is survived by three sons: David Eisenhauer and family; Coopersburg, Pa. L. Bar & Danielle Eisenhauer of Van Sants Airport, Erwinna Pa., and Nickolas Eisenhauer and family of Ewing, N.J.
Ike's brother Ron predeceased him. His sister I. Claire Duffey resides in Crawford, Colorado.
Captain Ike leaves behind six grandchildren: Jarod Eisenhauer, Angela, Areal and Keaton, Dosha and Nikita and four great grandchildren .
Ike will be honored with a Memorial Service at Chalet Suzanne in Lake Wales on Sunday October 6, 2013.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the local SPCA in Ike's dog Andy's name will be greatly appreciated.
