WINTER HAVEN - Anita Lally Francis, 85, passed away Friday, October 26th from cancer under the care of hospice.
She was born March 17, 1927 to Joseph and Florence Lally in Newport News, Virginia. She lived the majority of her adult life in St Augustine, Florida and moved to Winter Haven with her husband several years ago to be close to her daughter.
Anita retired from the Florida School for the Deaf. She loved the beach, wildflowers, birds, and "making memories" with her grandchildren.
Survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard, daughter Susan McPhail-Taylor, son in law Bill Taylor, grandsons Matthew and Adam McPhail, and a sister Florence Schwanbeck. She has a large extended family of great grandchildren, step grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
A simple Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends with internment at a later date at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Good Shepherd Hospice or Bok Tower Gardens.
