WINTER HAVEN - Anna King LeMire, 101, born in Corydon, KY, died February 27, 2013, peacefully of natural causes.
She was a loving mother and talented violinist. She earned her Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Miami in 1934 and went on to study at Julliard School of Music in NYC. Anna and her sister Ellouise formed the D'Arcy Trio and entertained in dinner clubs in NYC, Boston and Miami. Later she performed with the Miami Symphony Orchestra and string ensembles of Miami Beach. Anna was married to Eugene LeMire, who preceded her in death. She was a very active member of Miami Shores Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her two children D'Arcy LeMire of Miami and Jeanine Merritt of Winter Haven; three grandchildren: Amanda Merritt of Tampa, Erica Clark of Davenport, and Vanessa O'Reilly of Tallahassee; and two great grandchildren, Shea O'Reilly of Tallahassee and Keaton Clark of Davenport.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Miami.
