LAKELAND - Barbara Ann Chapin, age 75, died Wednesday morning, January 30, 2013, at her residence due to heart failure.
She was born April 7, 1937 in Madison, Wisconsin to the late Gilbert and Eleanor (Dressel) Montay. Her family moved to Battle Creek, Michigan where she lived most of her life. Barbara worked for Findley Adhesives for over 20 years where she retired as Plant Manager. Upon retirement she moved to Lakeland which she has called home the past 15 years. In addition to enjoying her family, she had a passion for her friends, golf, reading, sewing, gardening and everything Hawaiian.
Barbara is survived by her children, Stephen Shelton of Lakeland, April Shelton of Battle Creek, MI, Elizabeth Black of East Taunton, MA, Norman Chapin of Battle Creek, MI, and her brother Ronald Montay of Vulcan, MI; 9 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.
A private family service will be held in Battle Creek, MI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis National Research Foundation.
