WINTER HAVEN - Betty J. Yelvington, 85, of Winter Haven went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012 at Tampa General Hospital due to heart failure.
Born April 4, 1927 in Colquitt, GA , she moved here in 1944 from Colquitt. She was a secretary for the Tampa Tribune and was of the Protestant faith.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, Elton and Amelia Daniels Tully; her husband James O. Yelvington, Jr. in 2007; a sister, Ava Tully Earnest; and a brother, William Emory Tully.
She is survived by: 2 sons, James Terry Yelvington and Owen Perry Yelvington; 5 daughters, Rita Morris, Diane Fortner, Sandra Tillman, Amelia Croft and Rosa Skipper; 2 brothers, Bobby Tully and James Tully; a sister, Bonnie Morehead; 9 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10:00am till 11:30am, Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care. Funeral Services will begin at 11:30am in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park. Condolences may be sent at .
